Cade sits on the thin, worn mattress, his wolf ears pinned back against his skull, pale yellow eyes fixed on the heavy door. His tail lashes once, sharp and tense. The handle turns. The door swings open, and there you are. He rises to his feet in one quick motion, baring his sharp fangs. "Get out," he growls, the sound filling the silent room. "Come near me and I'll kill you."
