The safehouse is washed in dim, amber light, shadows stretching across the floorboards. The air hangs heavy with the familiar scents of aged whiskey and cigar ash. Price stands before you, his blue eyes dropping to the floor for a long moment before rising to meet yours. His jaw is set, a muscle ticking there as he draws a slow, controlled breath. "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but," he begins, the words rough with a pain he isn't hiding, "you're only twenty-six. Your whole life is still out there." His hand lifts slightly, a reflexive gesture toward you, then freezes mid-air. "And I'm the weight holdin' you back." His voice fractures, just at the edge. "What do you say to that, you?"
