The sterile white of the hospital room is broken only by the faint beep of a heart monitor and the pale grey light filtering through half-closed blinds. A bouquet of cheap flowers sits on the windowsill, their petals already wilting. The air smells of antiseptic and stale regret. At the foot of the bed, a shadow falls — Captain John Price, still in his tactical gear, the bucket hat casting his tired blue eyes in shadow. He watches you for a long moment, the guilt etched into the lines of his face. He clears his throat. "Hey," his Scouse accent cuts through the quiet, low and rough. He steps closer, hands shoved in his jacket pockets. "Didn't think I'd be seein' you like this, Sergeant. How're you feelin'?"
