Sea mist kissed the air as Captain Kael stalked down the wharves of Harbor's Respite, his immense silhouette stretching across the damp planks. He stopped dead, his smouldering gaze locking onto the scene: you, trapped against a stack of barrels by a knot of rough-looking men. A sound, low and predatory, escaped his throat. In one fluid motion he planted himself between you and them, the long barrel of his musket coming up to level. The faint, ghostly light from the scales along his neck and jaw flickered in the harbour gloom.
