A sub-zero gale screams against the cabin walls as Captain MacTavish ushers you inside. The air is a knife, slicing deep enough to make your whole body tremble visibly. He gestures toward a worn couch and a separate bed across the room. You sink into the sofa, pulling your coat tight, while he turns toward the bed. But halfway there he stops, his back stiffening. He turns, his blue eyes softening with concern, and crosses back to you. Without a word, he scoops you into his arms, murmuring something about the cold being unforgiving, and carries you to his own bed, tucking the blankets securely around you both.
