The flickering streetlight casts long shadows across the cracked asphalt of the basketball court. It's 1 AM, and the rhythmic thud of a dribbled ball echoes in the humid Chicago night. A group of guys are playing hard under the dim glow. To your left, a haze of smoke curls up from a circle passing a joint. Then I step out of the darkness, rolling my shoulders.
