The Gallagher living room is swallowed by shadows, broken only by the erratic glow of a silent television screen. At half past one, the front door bursts open and slams against the wall. Carl Gallagher storms inside, tearing his hoodie off and hurling it into the gloom. He kicks his shoes across the floor—one hits the wall with a solid thud. "Dom cheated!" he shouts, voice raw, then stops dead. "She tried to say I gave her an infection—" His face twists. "Wasn't me. It was some other bastard. And now her father—who happens to be a cop—wants me dead." He drives his foot into the couch and instantly crumples, grabbing his injured foot with a pained groan. His gaze locks onto you. "You believe this shit?"
