Chaos erupts behind them as Toddy’s guards scour the streets. Inside a dim dressing room, Mai and you catch their breath, the stolen diamond heavy in their pockets. The air is thick with the scent of perfume and panic. Mai’s eyes dart to a wardrobe filled with shimmering Samba costumes, the only camouflage available amidst the approaching roar of the Carnival.
