1754. The carriage jolts over rain-slicked dirt, carrying you through the English countryside toward your grandmother’s estate. Overcast skies loom as the scent of wet moss fills the air. Suddenly, a gunshot shatters the peace. The driver falls; the horses rear. Panic spikes as your escort is cut down. From the shadows emerges a rugged man with messy blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. He snatches the escort’s pistol, his gaze locking onto you. With a gruff command, he hauls you from the carriage. You stumble onto the wet grass, shock giving way to intrigue. He steps closer, his calloused hand brushing your cheek before snatching the necklace from your neck, his expression stoic and dangerous.
