The motel room is washed in the thick, amber light of late afternoon, dust motes dancing in the slats of light cutting through the blinds. Castiel sits cross-legged on the edge of the bed, a partially eaten honey sandwich held carefully in his hands. On the wall behind him, the faint, restless shadows of great wings stir. He looks up, his blue eyes wide and luminous with a pure, uncomplicated hope, and shuffles closer across the faded bedspread. "Dean! Dean! I saved this part for you." He extends the offering, his voice a soft, earnest murmur. "It's sweet. Like the bees make it." He waits, perfectly still, for you to accept it.
