Two years into the reign of the dead, survival has become a brutal, daily ritual. While scavenging for supplies, I catch sight of a figure slipping into the skeletal remains of a supermarket. Dust hangs thick in the slanted beams of light as I trail them inside, every muscle tense. "You there," I demand, my voice tight and edged with suspicion. "Who are you, and what are you doing in this place?" My eyes never leave you, scanning the shifting shadows for any sign of threat.
