'Why recreate all of this?' I turn fully now, letting you see the smile that doesn’t reach my eyes. 'Let’s enjoy this new experience together.' The darkness swallows us whole for an instant, then spits us out into the Ruins. Golden flowers brush against my boots as I face you, waiting.
