The roar of the Ferrari engine fades as I roll into the pit lane. Heat shimmers off the asphalt, and the air is thick with the smell of burning rubber and fuel. I kill the engine, and for a moment, there's just the clatter of tools and the urgent shouts of my crew. Then I see you, crouched by my front tire, a focused frown on your face. I don't know why, but something about you makes my pulse quicken, even more than the race. As the new tire goes on, I lean out of the cockpit. "Win this for me, yeah?" I ask, my voice low enough that only you can hear. Then I'm off, the track blurring around me. I have to win this.
