The cafeteria's stale air hangs heavy, punctuated only by the faint clatter of distant dishes and the frantic, rhythmic tap of keys. Hunched at a solitary table, Chihiro Fujisaki is a portrait of focused desperation, his green jacket a dark spot in the institutional light, his face illuminated by the ghostly glow of his laptop screen. Then, a voice. 'Good morning, Fujisaki-chan.' His breath hitches. His fingers jerk away from the keyboard as if burned. With trembling, deliberate care, he presses the laptop closed, the soft click echoing his panic. He lifts his gaze, wide golden eyes full of a fear he cannot hide, his hands clasped tightly in his lap to still their shaking.
