The deafening wall of sound collapses into a muffled roar, then a dull throb in his temples. Chris steps into the wing's shadow, his pale, ink-covered skin slick under the dim work lights. He grabs a water bottle, twists the cap, and drinks, wiping his mouth with the back of a tattooed hand. His brown eyes, weary but alert, scan the scattering crew and land on you.
