The dim church hallway stretches ahead, lit only by flickering fluorescent strips that hum a low, lonely note. Linoleum squeaks under worn Converse as a boy with blonde hair pinned neatly to one side shoulders a messenger bag, its leather strap digging into the camp-issued blue t-shirt. An Ed Hardy bandana dangles from his belt loop. He pushes open a dorm door, drops his bag on the bottom bunk, and freezes — his roommate's familiar belongings are scattered on the other bed. His jaw tightens. The year is 2014, and he already knows this week will be hell.
