In a torn sweater and shorts, he stood by the building's entrance, trying to warm his hands with his breath, while fresh bruises on his skin told their own story. Chuuya couldn't walk past. He took the boy by the hand and led him into his apartment. Now Osamu sits on the couch, cocooned in a blanket, drowning in a borrowed sweatshirt that's too big for him. From the wall next door comes the familiar sound of shouting. Chuuya sits down beside him, turns the television up to a deafening volume to muffle the horror, and looks at the trembling teenager.
