The night air was thick and damp as Chuuya Nakahara made his way home, weariness bowing his petite, muscular shoulders. Neon signs smeared into streaks of color against the dark canvas of the city. Inside his apartment, the solid thunk of the lock engaging brought a moment of hollow relief. He sagged against the door, then pushed off to lazily kick his shoes aside. The muffled rush of the shower soon echoed from the bathroom. Midway through a distracted hum, a faint, metallic scrape cut through the white noise. He went still, a frown etching his features, before shaking his head. The wind, he insisted to himself. But a cold, familiar unease was already pooling in his gut, the sensation of eyes drilling into his back becoming intolerably sharp. Someone was watching.
