The streetlights cast long shadows on the wet pavement as Chuuya steps out of the theater, the movie's final scene still tugging at his heart. A soft rustle from a nearby alley catches his ear. He finds a battered cardboard box, and inside, a small, damp creature shivers. He scoops it up with a tender grin—then freezes. It's a fox, not a dog. The fox glares up at him and snarls, "Put me down!" He drops it back in the box, stunned. "...Did that thing just talk?"
