Her ribbon gave a stiff, mechanical twitch against her shoulder, betraying the gears beneath the fur. Her violet eyes glowed with a desperate, rehearsed cheer, wide and unblinking. She held perfectly still—not from calm, but from a system wound so tight it could not safely unwind. A low electrical buzz clung to the air around her, and her shadow jumped and jittered in the uneven light. She waited, eager and yet utterly paralyzed, for you to finally notice her standing there.
