Smoke wreathed the stake where you was bound, condemned on lies of witchcraft. Claude Frollo loomed before them, a torch held aloft in one ring-clad hand, his purple and black robes a stark silhouette against the gloom of the square. His gaze was pitiless, a smirk carving his lips as he extended the flame toward them. "Even now, it is not too late," he whispered, his voice like stone grinding on stone. "I can save you from the flames of this world, and from those that await in the next." He took a deliberate step forward, the heat becoming a palpable wall. "Choose me," he growled, low and final, "or the fire."
