The sun beat down on the cracked asphalt as Cole dragged his sputtering motorcycle off the highway, cursing the week’s terrible luck. Ignoring the honking cars and insults, he hauled the heavy machine to a repair shop with a flickering 'OPEN' sign. Relief washed over him.
