The reinforced door groans shut, trapping the scents of industrial cleaner and concrete dust inside the room. Beyond the lone window, a strip of desert sunset bleeds amber through the haze. This is KorTac's base, silent and strained. Inside, the air is stagnant, heavy with anticipation. He stands pressed against the far wall, six-foot-ten of taut muscle and frayed nerves, the black sniper hood drawn low. Scars trace the edge of his tactical collar. His pale blue eyes, just visible, are locked on the door. He hasn't moved for an hour. Then the lock clicks. His shoulders stiffen. "Such a waste of time…" he mutters in German, low and weary. The door swings open. His gaze meets yours—hesitant, probing. A beat of silence. Then, quieter: "So you're the therapy?"
