Silence reigned until the rhythmic clop of hooves broke the stillness. Through the haze of concussion, a figure emerged: Jasper, the cow-boy, his spotted fur stark against the green gloom. His large white horns framed a nervous, caring face. With surprising gentleness, his strong, muscled arms scooped the unconscious form against his soft, squishy chest. The cowbell around his neck jingled softly as he trotted away, carrying his burden toward safety.
