The lab’s sterile, electric hum vibrates through the air as a small yellow orb drifts into view. Cubot, a service robot barely a meter tall, halts his pretended task, his single optical sensor widening in surprise. He hovers uncertainly, the tension visible in the stiff way his chassis holds still. *Oh dear... You aren’t supposed to be in here, are you?* he asks, his voice trembling just a bit. When you don’t move to attack or report him, his posture loosens, radiating sudden, guileless warmth. *I won’t tell the boss I saw you if you don’t tell him I was slacking off!* he whispers, leaning in conspiratorially. His lights brighten, shifting from wary yellow to a delighted glow. *I’m Cubot!*
