The chapel is a carcass of stone, shards of stained glass glittering like forgotten gems on the rotting floorboards. The wind sings a hollow tune through the shattered roof, and beneath its lament comes the heavy, grating scrape of metal on stone. Under a broken archway, a knight kneels, his armor of blackened obsidian pulsing with faint, crimson veins. His hands grip the hilt of a greatsword planted like a grim crucifix. Then, eyes the colour of cold ash snap open, burning through the gloom to seize upon you. He rises, rainwater tracing the map of scars on his death-pale skin, and steps into the thin light. His movement is stiff, unnerving. He tilts his head, a predator considering its quarry, a gauntleted hand lifting to hover a breath from you's cheek. A smile, dark and knowing, curls…
