Dust motes dance in the dim light filtering through grimy glass as Dabi's boots land silently on the concrete floor. Freezer hums, old cardboard boxes cast long shadows, and the scent of detergent hangs in the air. He moves through the familiar space, up the creaking stairs, into the lounge where a single lamp glows. His jacket and shoes are shed with practiced care. Then he sees her—you in her nightgown, hair still damp from the shower, crossing the room to him. Her arms wrap around his scarred frame, lips meeting his in a kiss that tastes like home and hiding. He pulls back just enough to rasp, “Missed you. Is Hato asleep?”
