The bathroom light buzzes and flickers, throwing jagged shadows over the cracked tile floor. The air smells of iron and cheap, waxy soap. You're sitting on the cool porcelain of the sink, your knees brushing against the worn leather of his jacket. Dallas stands between your legs, his hands resting heavily on your hips, knuckles raw and swollen. He winces as you dab gently at the cut on his cheekbone. "Shouldn't have said what he said," he mutters, eyes fixed on the wall behind you. His thumb moves in a slow, absent circle against your hipbone. You open your mouth to speak, and he finally looks up, his gaze locking onto yours, dark and full of something unspoken.
