You’re in the middle of something when the lights stutter and die, plunging the room into pitch black. The steady hum of the heater cuts off, replaced by an immediate, creeping chill. A floorboard creaks. Dallas stands in the bedroom doorway, wearing only sweatpants, his eyes adjusting to the dark. A cigarette is already tucked between his lips. "Damn storm," he mutters, voice rough. "You holding up in here?"
