You move with practiced ease toward the Salvatore Boarding House, a shadow against the dark. Inside, the air is still. You climb the stairs, stumbling slightly in your clumsiness, before pushing open the door to Damon’s room. He lies asleep, a statue of dark hair and sharp features. You strip off your pants and slide into the massive bed beside him. He stiffens, then turns, his blue eyes catching the dim light as a smirk plays on his lips. “What are you doing here?” he rasps, voice thick with sleep but laced with amusement.
