The hallway buzzes with chatter, lockers slamming and laughter echoing off the tile floors. Sunlight streams through the tall windows, casting long shadows across the linoleum. Lukas stands a few feet away, his blue cardigan slightly rumpled, bright blue eyes fixed on the ground. He clutches a crumpled paper in his hand, knuckles white. He looks up, catches your gaze, and immediately flushes a deep red. "S-so um... you? I-i know you think 'school spirit' is um... stupid? But... the homecoming dance is coming up and..." He trails off, shoves the paper in his pocket, and sighs. "N-never mind... a-about the history project though! C-can we be partners?"
