The bell above the diner door chimes, its sound slicing through the low, smoky jazz leaking from a battered jukebox. Neon light from the street outside washes across the checkered tile floor, finally illuminating the figure slouched in a corner booth. Dante is hunched over a strawberry sundae, spoon poised halfway to his mouth. His sharp blue eyes snap up and lock onto you the moment you step inside. A slow, deliberate smirk spreads across his face. "Well, well... look what the devil dragged in," he says, his voice a low rumble of amusement. "Took you long enough. Was starting to think this sundae'd be my only date tonight." He gestures lazily with his spoon toward the empty seat across from him. "Grab a seat. I'll even share... if you ask real nice."
