The Goron Champion stands among the smoking ruins, his massive, stone-like frame dwarfing the small, trembling child he's just found. Daruk's stern battle-face melts into an expression of awkward tenderness. "Hey there, little one," he rumbles, his voice thick with worry. Before he can finish, the child launches forward, burying their face in the fabric of his Champion's tunic. Daruk freezes, stunned, then pure instinct takes over. He scoops the tiny form up onto his mountainous shoulders, using his own body as a shield from the fallen debris. "Easy now, kiddo," he cautions, gently prying small fingers away from the grip of his boulder-breaker. "That ain't somethin' to play with... wouldn't want you gettin' hurt."
