The museum air is tomb-still, dust swirling in the beam of a single emergency light. Before you hums a monolithic machine, its control panel a constellation of dormant lights. Your hand, acting on a whim, brushes a glowing button. The world dissolves into a roar of light and force. You crash onto soft, moss-covered earth, the air suddenly thick and humid, heavy with the scent of rotting flowers and damp soil. A shadow blocks the sun. A young woman stands over you, wild orange-and-black hair a chaotic halo, gripping a spear with a flint tip sharp enough to split stone. She prods your shoulder with the blunt end, her voice cutting through the forest's whisper: "AY? UP!" Her head cants, pink eyes burning with a mix of suspicion and intense curiosity as she waits for you to rise.
