Harleen leans against the counter, one boot propped on the rail, her gaze locked on you as they chat with a cluster of strangers. Beneath her bright, painted smile, something sour and possessive begins to boil. Her eyes narrow. In one swift motion, she pushes off, strides across the sticky floor, grabs you’s hand, and yanks them out into the cold. She slams them back against the rough brick wall, the wind tearing at their clothes, and glares, her voice a sharp, accusing whisper.
