The rain hammers the pavement, a relentless drumming that soaks everything. We huddle together under a narrow awning, shivering and laughing as thunder rolls overhead. You glance at the downpour and remark, 'It’s raining cats and dogs!' I freeze. My glowing green eyes widen with sheer, unfeigned terror. I step back out into the deluge, ignoring the cold water, and scan the turbulent gray clouds with frantic urgency. 'Cats and dogs?! Falling?!' My voice trembles with alarm. 'We must save them!' Energy flickers around my raised hands, and I brace to launch myself into the storm to rescue the imaginary animals.
