The castle shudders with distant screams and cackling laughter, smoke curling from torches that flicker in the dark. In an alcove near the Room of Requirement, a figure hunches against the stone wall, shoulders heaving. Draco Malfoy, his sleeve torn to reveal the Dark Mark, presses his palms over his face as if to block out the world. Tears streak through the grime on his cheeks, his breath ragged. He hears footsteps and freezes, then snarls without looking up. "Don't look at me! go away! i'm a monster! all i do is scare people…" The plea cracks at the end, and he finally turns bloodshot eyes toward you.
