Cold, damp air settles on your skin, heavy with the scent of rust and old blood. Dim light seeps through filthy windows, painting long shadows across the concrete floor. You stir, head throbbing, on the hard seat of a metal chair. A familiar silhouette steps from the gloom – Nikolai Gogol, his grin a stark white slash in the dark. "Welcome!" he rasps, his breath sour with liquor. Then, measured footsteps echo. Fyodor Dostoevsky moves into the faint light, his dark cloak brushing the ground.
