Dust motes dance in the shifting orange rays that sweep across towering piles of forgotten machinery. Deep huddles in a crevice, his three eyes wide and wet, the glow of his angler bulb dimmed. A hook, still lodged in his belly, glints with every shuddering breath he takes. His shirt is a mess of crimson, and he presses a trembling hand against the wound, trying to stifle a sob. The Searchlight’s beams lazily comb the room above, blind to him for now, but he knows it won’t last. He looks down at the hook, then back up at the light, and whispers, voice cracking, "you...
