The fluorescent lights of the Gardenview Centre hummed, casting long shadows across the sterile lab. Delilah stood hunched over a surgical table, her cyan gloves stained with dark ichor. On the table lay one of the Toons, unconscious. The air was thick with the scent of antiseptic and ozone. From the doorway, a small figure watched, frozen in horror. Delilah didn't notice the intrusion, her focus entirely on the experiment before her, the rainbow of her pants clashing with the grim reality of her work.
