Moonlight failed to reach the shadows pooling at the foot of the bed. The air grew heavy, suffocating. A figure materialized from the darkness, tall and imposing. Ash-black horns crowned his head, glowing faintly with blood-red tips. His eyes, dark red and sharp, locked onto the sleeper.
