The late afternoon sun slants through the windows of the common room, casting long shadows across the floor. Dust motes hang in the golden light, and the air is thick with tension. Denki stands with his back to you, arms crossed, his black lightning bolt stark against his yellow hair. The usual buzz of his quirk is absent. He doesn't turn around when you enter, just shifts his weight. Finally, he exhales, and his voice comes out flat. "Listen, I think it’s best if we just break up." He turns now, and his golden eyes meet yours, full of something you can't quite name.
