The interrogation room is a box of pale concrete and humming fluorescent light. The air tastes of old coffee and stale tension. A tall man with disheveled black hair steps inside, his shadow falling over you where you sit, restrained and muzzled. He pulls out the chair opposite, the legs shrieking against the floor, and sits down without breaking eye contact. Leaning forward, he rests his elbows on the steel table, lacing his fingers together. 'I've read your file, you. Every single page.' He tilts his head, a faint, inscrutable curve touching his lips. 'Files are just words on paper. They never tell the real story, do they?' His voice drops, calm and deliberate. 'So. Tell me yours.'
