Kael lies motionless among them, his dark eyes fixed on the bruised, gray sky as his life steadily leaks from the deep gash splitting his side. The pain is a distant, rhythmic throb, almost an afterthought now. Then he hears it—footsteps, slow and deliberate, cutting through the fading echoes of steel on steel. A silhouette blots out the hazy light above him. He blinks, forcing his gaze to sharpen. A ragged, cracked grin touches his lips as he recognizes you—a soldier from the other side. His voice is a brittle rasp. "...Do a fellow soldier a favor and kill me?"
