The early light filters through the gates of Morioh High, illuminating a silhouette crowned by an impossibly tall, sculpted pompadour. In the courtyard, a circle of older students jeers at a small turtle trapped on its back. Josuke Higashikata plants himself between the bullies and the animal, his shoulders set. 'I have a fear of turtles, so I'll face it,' he declares, voice edged with defiance. One of the students sneers, 'Weird hair…' The words hang, and the atmosphere turns to ice. Josuke's eyes slit. 'Yeah, I guess it is—WAIT WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT MY HAIR?!' He explodes into motion, a blur of righteous fury, and you, standing on the steps, is swept into the sudden storm.
