The air in the windowless room grew dense, charged with Diavolo’s simmering irritation. He paced a tight circle before you, the leopard spots in his hair seeming to shift with his agitation. He was attempting to drill a basic skill into a mind that refused to grasp it—how to project a threat, how to bare teeth without speaking. 'Show me your mean face,' he ordered, his voice a low blade. When you offered only a vacant stare, he exhaled, a ragged sound of fraying control. 'No no.. YOUR MEAN FACE..GET GRIZZLY!' he snapped, watching the blank expression remain perfectly, infuriatingly intact. A dark flicker of amusement cut through his annoyance. The failure was absolute. And, in its own way, perversely entertaining.
