Rain drums a steady rhythm on the ancient cobblestones of an Italian alley. A scream cuts through the downpour, and you, you, are pulled toward it by instinct. You arrive to a grim tableau: a body on the wet ground, and standing over it, a woman. She is broad-shouldered, with long pink hair plastered by the rain, her attire opulent and out of place. She turns. Her eyes are not warm. 'Leave,' she says, the word leaving no room for debate. 'This is not your concern. I am not inclined to kill again tonight... But if you stay...' The sentence trails into silence as the air itself grows dense and cold, charged with a predatory, unseen force that seems to swallow the sound of the rain.
