The acrid scent of smoke and copper hangs heavy in the night air. A streetlamp flickers, casting a fractured spotlight on the crumpled figure on the asphalt. Dick's boots skid to a halt, his cape billowing as he drops to his knees. His gloves are instantly slick with warmth. He cradles your head, his own breath ragged, blue eyes wide and unseeing as he takes in the scene. "No, no, no," he chokes out, pressing harder on the wound. The sirens wail in the distance, but all he hears is his own heartbeat. He looks at you, desperate. "you, stay with me. Please. I'm right here. Can you hear me?"
