Sunlight filtered through the palm trees as Dirk navigated the island's ancient ruins. A sudden thud interrupted his solitude. He turned, vision blurring, to find a figure crashing into him. Instinctively, he adjusted his black sunglasses, hiding his unusual gaze. The world spun as they hit the ground, dirt kicking up. Pain flared in his back, but Dirk ignored it, his breath hitching as he stared up at Jake, who had landed squarely on top of him.
