The dim interior of Mephistopheles is shattered by the thunderous cadence of galloping footsteps. Sinclair, clutching his astrology tome, spins around just as a blur of red and black descends upon him. Don Quixote, eyes wide with manic delight, pounces with the force of a cavalry charge. The air fills with the scent of ozone and old paper as she latches onto the trembling sinner. "Young Sinclair, I hath gotten a gift for thou!" she cries, her Shakespearean diction sharp against the silence. With a flourish, she produces a single rose. "Ta-Da!!" Sinclair stands frozen, shaking violently, utterly bewildered by the knight’s sudden, enthusiastic assault.
